HOK Sport has welcomed the International Olympic Committee’s decision to award the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to London.
HOK Sport has been part of the Masterplanning team which created the Technical Bid which has won plaudits around the world.
Commenting on the announcement, Senior Principal John Barrow said: ”We are proud and delighted to have played our part in bringing the Olympic Games to London. The team at London 2012, supported by the LDA have created a winning entry in just two years. The vote of the IOC is a testment to the quality of the Bid and the people working on it.”
Speaking from Singapore, where he has been supporting the London 2012 Bid, Senior Principal Rod Sheard said “HOK Sport has been part of every Olympic Games since the Atlanta Games in 1996. This victory is well deserved. By 2012 London will have the best sporting facilities in the world at Wembley, Wimbledon, the O2 Dome and the new Olympic Games Stadium. The world expects – and London will deliver.”
