Date: June 24th 2008 Project: Louisville Arena

During its monthly meeting this morning, the Louisville Arena Authority unveiled new images of the downtown Arena's interior designs. HOK Sport, the architecture firm selected to design the 700,000 square-foot arena, presented renderings of the state-of-the-art facility to the Authority and attendees at today’s public meeting.

Visitors enter the Arena through the 14,000 square-foot Grand Lobby. The spacious, open lobby features high ceilings, terrazzo flooring and glass windows to give patrons a clear view of downtown Louisville and the Arena's large, open plaza. A restaurant located on the main concourse provides a spectacular view of the Ohio River.

As the future home to the University of Louisville basketball teams, the Arena combines modern designs with the history and energy of the community to create a lively atmosphere that is both functional and entertaining.

"We've brought the story of the Louisville Arena exterior inside," said Steve Hotujac, HOK Sport principal. "Outside, the Arena speaks of the city and its surroundings. Inside, the Arena continues that theme by celebrating the region's rich history."

The Arena boasts 22,000 seats with over half located in the lower bowl. This unique seating design provides better site lines and viewing angles for all patrons. Seating also includes 71 suites, 70 loge boxes, 4 party suites and approximately 3,000 club seats for premium seating options.

The Arena is scheduled to open in November, 2010. For more information, please visit www.arenaauthority.com.
