

While the arena is designed primarily as an entertainment venue, it also anchors the west side of the Jacksonville sports district, which includes Alltel Stadium and the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville ballpark, both HOK Sport designs.
The design takes its cue from St. Andrews Church, located immediately adjacent, and utilizes red brick to complement the historic landmark. Steel canopies were integrated into the two entrance plazas, welcoming fans to the arena which seats 16,000 in concert mode. The arena is home to the Jacksonville Tomcats football team and with its full-size ice sheet serves as the home of the Barracudas, a member of the Southern Professional Hockey League.
