The new Louisville Arena will occupy an important downtown site marking the city threshold where theClark Memorial Bridge crosses the Ohio River from neighboring Indiana. This river address, coupled with frontage on Main Street, provides the opportunity for a signature building and new symbol for Louisville.

The arena will have strong connections to the city. Washington Street extends west to Slugger Field, the minor league ballpark. It is envisioned that Washington Street will develop into a four block "sports corridor" of retail shops and restaurants, capitalizing on development momentum already in place and thousands of new fans attending arena events per year. Equally strong is the connection to the Louisville Convention Center and Fourth Street “Live”, one block north and three blocks north and east, respectively. The arena will allow concurrent use for large convention events while shops and restaurants in the entertainment district will support fans pre and post event.
