The Nebraska Legislature commissioned this study to give guidance for the possible relocation of the annual State Fair. The physical portion of the study included two principal components; the development of a hypothetical model for an idealized Nebraska State Fair at a non-specific location, and suggested improvements to the existing facility to make it comparable with the model. Supported by economic and market data developed by Economics Research Associates, the study included fair “best practices” recommendations, facility sizing standards, application of design guidelines, site selection criteria and cost estimates.
