The award winning 52,500 seat Suncorp Stadium is the most modern, intimate and largest dedicated rugby stadium in Australia. The unique stadium design reflects the sub tropical climate and character of the Queensland capital. It has a continuous floating steel roof, carried on four clear span trusses supported at the corners of the stadium. Special attention was given to the external envelope. Naturally ventilated corner bays, open mesh stairwells, screens of recycled ironbark and spotted gum timber battens combine to create an overall feeling of lightness and tactile harmony.

The award winning stadium was designed for the QLD Government by HOK Sport and PDT Architects.
