
HOK Sport, in conjunction with Jeter, Cook and Jepson Architects, recently completed planning and design services for a new multi-sport indoor practice and football training facility for the UConn huskies.
The multi-purpose Burton Family Football Complex / Mark R. Shenkman Training Center features an indoor practice facility that houses a 120-yard long synthetic playing surface, an 18,000 SF strength and conditioning area, state-of-the-art video capabilities, large locker rooms, a strength training facility, coaches' offices, and team meeting rooms while providing UConn's football team with the most technologically advanced training equipment.
The facility will also be the first LEED Certified collegiate athletic facility to open in the country. Some sustainable features include:
