The new 22,000-seat downtown arena is set to enhance the dynamic of Louisville's vibrant downtown. The building will incorporate a variety of sustainable design elements, including:
- Preservation of green space
- Use of existing infrastructure, utilities and roads
- Integration with public transportation
- Offering preferred parking to alternative fuel or hybrid vehicles
- Mitigation of storm water run off
- Selection of landscaping to minimize or eliminate irrigation
- Use of auto-shutoff or low flow plumbing fixtures
- Use of high efficiency mechanical systems
- Providing adequate space for storage and collection of recyclable materials
- Use of low-emitting and renewable materials
- Management of construction waste and construction air quality
