TCF Bank Stadium
University of Minnesota
home to the Minnesota Golden Gophers, opening in 2009

The University of Minnesota's new on-campus, 50,000-seat football stadium will be the most sustainable collegiate football stadium in the country. It will meet LEED Certification guidelines – it will be the first of its kind in terms of LEED status. The project will include such sustainable elements as:

  • 2 bioswales for storm water retention
  • Redevelopment of a brownfield site
  • Use of native vegetation
  • Reducing environmental impact through materials and construction/installation methods (ie low VOC paint, low emissivity glues, locally produced materials)
